Medicare does not cover routine eye exams unless they are medically necessary such as when you have diabetes, glaucoma or other medical conditions that effect your eyes.
You may have some coverage for your eye exam under your states Medicaid program. I suggest calling your Medicaid office or the Department of Health and Human Services to determine what the options are in your state.
You may also what to look at what Medicare Advantage plans are available in your area. These plans most often have additional benefits beyond what Medicare offers. I have had a lot of success helping folks in my area find help with similar issues.
To learn more about the plans available in your area I suggest you meet with a licensed health insurance agent if you have someone that you know and trust. If you have any other questions please post them here or you may contact me through my website at http://www.mainemedicareoptions.com/contact
