What is killing my chickens? For the past two days my chickens have been killed and two have gone missing.
For the past two days some of my chickens have gotten killed. As of today four have been killed and we have only found two of the bodies. This problem only recently started once we brought out goats to the farm. Now that they are here we leave a full size door open all day and night for them to travel inside and out. This is emotional and stressful as we loved these feathery friends. Could this have been one of the rosters or an outside animal? There were feathers all around outside the chicken enclosure but there have been instances of them escaping. There is lattice around the top of the enclosure with the back and sides wooden walls. The front is fenced with chicken wire and there is also some around the bottom on the back. There are two doors covered in the wire but have small space between the top wire and door. Also, on the bottom of the door there is a rubber flap to prevent chicken escape. Only the silkies have been killed so far and I want to prevent further killing. My question is what is most likely causing this and how so I stop it from happening any more?
