Is it normal to feel this way?

Almost every day I feel a strange want for adventure and magic. Sometimes it's so overwhelming, I think I might scream. It scares me too. It scares me because I know what I want doesn't exist. : ( Please, serious answers. Is it some phase I'm going through or is there something wrong with me?
I'm a 17 year old girl. I like fantasy. My favorite things are about vampires, werewolves, fairies, etc. I LOVE the Harry Potter books. I've read them all so much, I know them by heart. I've watched all of the movies. I've also read the Fablehaven series, Percy Jackson, Narnia, and Twilight. I've been hoping they'll dampen my lust for adventure, but they don't. There's only one thing that I've found that can, and I can't do it until after I graduate, which is next year. Please help me.

Hey! Ive missed u :) I dont think this is entirely normal.... i think that maybe ur just feeding urself too much on fantasy. Maybe lay off the magical stuff for a little bit and see if that helps. Hope this helps!! God bless :)

Ok, I'll try. I'm not making any promises. Do you think there's something wrong with me then? Don't worry. You won't hurt me if you say yes. I already know there must be something.

No i dont think theres something wrong with you. I think u need to fill an empty space in ur life and u try and fill it with fantasy. I could be wrong, but thats my idea

Hmm, thanks. I could understand that. It's kind of hard to explain, but if you want me to, I can.

Well, my mother lost me when i was 2. I went to live with my grandma. Then when I was 12, I saw my mother. She had a little girl who was only 2 years old. Then one day, I got home from school, and my baby sister was gone ; ( My mother showed up on my grandma's doorstep this summer. Now my little sis is NINE! After my mother left that last time, when i was 12, she sued my grandma. That's another story. In all of these years I hadn't heard from my father. Then one day, my father called. I'm sure you can imagine how excited I was. He called me every weekend. THis was about 2 years ago. Then he stopped. One day, this year, he called again. He promised to call me that weekend. I still haven't heard from him and that was like almost 2 months ago. I've never known my parents. My father lives in Michigan. My mother moved all across the states with my little sister. Thankfully now she is trying to mend the bond, but that's pretty much it. Unless you want to hear the other story about why my mother sued my grandma.

Wow. Yeah you've had a hard life. God has blessed nm with parents who love each other. So u really dont know how u feel. Ill be praying for u and ur family :) See I think, because you havent had ur parents in ur life, you have a void and emptiness that only God can fill. He loves you no matter what. He cares for you, and wants to help you through life. Everything in life is not fair. And certainly not everything turns out perfect, but if you trust in Him, he will not only see you through the trials, but he will give u relief.

Yep. I hope and pray everything works out for you. Our ways are not always best. "There is a way that seems right; but in the end it leads to death." God knows what is best. Im praying that God's will be done in ur life

Ok, thanks. I would be so grateful if you can help me get to Him. I've always believed in Him, but I don't think it's as strong as yours.

Have u ever prayed and asked God into ur life? Or just believed in Him

I've prayed to him a couple of times. I've always known He's there. Sorry it took so long. I was saying Bye to someone ; ( Don't know how long he'll be gone. : (

Artemis, I will pray for you too. I have had terrible things happen with my parents. I found God, (or He found me,) several years ago when I was horribly depressed. We all have a need for God.
Often reading is a good and constructive way to pass the time. (But not if you read pornography or violence.) The author of the Narnia books was a very famous Christian.

Here's some more good authors to read:
Ursula K. Le Guin
Anne McCaffery
Michael Moorcock
Orson Scott Card
Andre Norton
Just immerse yourself in Science Fiction and Fantasy until you are old enough to do what you want to do.
Have fun!!!

I feel the same thing. It's not normal, but it's perfectly fine, as long as you don't feel sick like me whenever you realize your life isn't full of magic. I'm a, uh, special case...lol.

THanks. Although, sometimes I do feel like that. I think it'd be cool if life was full of magic: )
