We have those computers at school, ugly as hell, but very good computers! You can almost play Battlefield 4 on them, the only problem is the lag you get!

It really depends on how much you are willing to spend. A used desktop might be all you need. Many clubs in college have computers you can use for free as well as printers. I would recommend a canon printer because the cartridges are easier to refill. The internal components of most computers are made by the same manufacturer but just branded differently. Thus, don't worry about the brand, statistical performance should be your only criteria. NEVER get a computer with an Android OS. They are good for phones but bad for computers.

chromebooks are OK
but it really depends on what ur doing
if its something like writing and essay turning in work then yes get one.
if u have to do fancy stuff on your computer like photoshop, editing, downloading software onto the computer that is not something universal
then get an hp or something

Mac's are very user friendly and you can easily carry them around. PC's, don't even think about it! I strongly root for a mac.

Lenovo is sold best in China. My company only use Lenovo THINKPAD because we usually work outside in winter and summer. It performs very well.

I recommend a Mac Book Pro. You can get a good used one for around $450 or so on ebay. I love my Mac's as they all have one common feature - "They Work as Advertised" You might check K-Mart they have some good sales lately on HP's.

I think laptop is better (Toshiba) or (Hp) , If you want something better there are ( sony ) but it more expensive , The important thing for a student that to be with high memory , good CBU and middle size.

THE BEST COMPUTER FOR STUDENTS WILL BE A Raspberry Pi. THESE CAN BE FOUND FOR ABOUT £70 WITH FULL KIT EG.MOUSE KEYBOARD ALL APPROPRIATE WIRES

THE PC IS THE SIZE OF A CREDIT CARD AND IS STILL GREAT FOR THE SIZE. THERE IS ONE PROBLEM THAT TES YOU WILL/MAY HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER USB HUB AND EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE SEPERATLY ALTHOUGH IN MOST KITS YOU GET A USB HUB WITH IT THAT CONTAINS ABOUT FIVE TO SIX SLOTS

http://mobile.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=682673

HOPE THIS IS USEFUL TO YOU, ALL ROUND THESE LITTLE THINGS ARE GREAT AND I LIVE MINE AND ITS EASY TO STORE AND CARRY AROUND SO IF NEEDS BE YOU COULD TAKE IT TO COLLAGE IR UNIVERSITY WITH YOU

***warning*** YOU NEED TO HAVE A MONITOR OF SOME KIND, COMPUTER MONITORS ARE FINE BUT MOST MODERN AND SOME LESS MODERN TVS SHOULD WORK.
