If a woman gets in an DUI accident while driving her boyfriends truck at his request can insurance come after her?

Report as

I beg to differ. My brother in law was killed by a drink driver driving someone else's car, At their request. Both people were found liable.

It depends on the state. In many states, the insurance follows the driver.

It doesn't matter who "requested" it, anyone who gets behind the wheel drunk deserves whatever punishment can be bestowed upon them. I have NO sympathy. So my answer to your question is, "I hope so."

Yes .. and rightly so .. Requested by someone else or not .. (She was 'requested' .. not forced). YOU always have the ability to say "NO" ... you should NEVER drive if you are under the influence .. PERIOD.

If you do, and you hurt someone in the meantime..you most definitely should be held accountable... PERIOD!

You drove. You were drunk. You are responsible. His insurance will be affected too.

This is a simple negligence question. The innocent injured party will sue the owner of the vehicle, whose insurance will pay the claim. The insurance company will then sue the idiot who drove drunk and take everything you have to repay them. As the others have said, it's makes zero difference whether you had his permission or not. You cannot give someone permission to commit a crime.

Absolutely they can, and will. I hope this is not your defense for court. Own up to your bad judgement and face your punishment. Make sure to get help for your drinking before you take someone's life.
