What age are people in the afterlife?

My mom died 4 yrs ago when she was only 28. Does that mean that she will stay 28 forever? Or is she still aging in the afterlife? If I died when I'm 90 does that mean I'll be older than my mom? How does that work?

Nobody knows anything about this. I'm sorry your mom had to die so young. I'm sure she's looking over you - wishing she could be there with you.

Thank you. She promised me she'd always be here for me but I was wrong.

I think John-O is correct, Andy...there is no reason not to think her heart and her love is still here with you.

i famous medium on the channel TLC says that yes people age in the afterlife, but when it comes to appearance i don't know. Maybe you can ask your local church.

It all depends on who you ask. Different religions and different people have different opinions about it.

Some say we stay the same age. Others say we will age a bit. Some ay we will be as we were when we were young. (Young adults- One said around 30)
Some say we become a "Soul Self" and age is irrelevant.

I'm guessing here, but Id think the age you die would be the most logical answer.

I do believe when you die a certain age, you will stick to same age in the afterlife, but your body that you left behind, will continue to grow old until there's nothing left of it. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Just remember that she's away from pain, sadness, and fear, and always looking down and smiling even when you make your own mistakes.

What do you mean by "your body will continue to grow old until there's nothing left?" Body in the afterlife? Does the body keep growing on earth?

What after life do you believe in ? According to the Christian world view, you get a new heavenly body that's even better then this body in it's prime and this new body stays the same forever (it doesn't age)

I heard a few things. One, you keep growing until you get as old as Jesus when he died, which I believe was 34 then it stops. Two, if you are older that Jesus when he died then you go back to 34 and stay there. Three, you stay the same age. I am sorry about your loss. I hope this helped.

if you are talking about resurrection, it does not say in the bible how old are we in the resurrection day. but i believe that it is going to be your age before you die so that you will be able to know and still remember yourself because logic dictates that if you are resurrected in a form of a different body let say, the last time you see yourself in the morror was you are already old, and then here comes the resurrection day and see yourself who looks like abraham lincoln or in a body of a baby, you might think that you are not that being, am i making sense here?

this is actually what is going to happen in the resurrection day,,

let us read,

5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

it says, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

see? God will put back our flesh and after that is the judgemnt day.

do not worry about babies, they are already saved they will never experience resurrection.

What book of the Bible is that taken from please? :-)

this is the verse, apply little wisdom here,

let us read,

Exodus 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

it says, whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

before we were born we are all written in the book of life of God. we are all predestined in heaven at the time we were born but as time goes on as we grow older, we start learning good and evil and free will kicks in. there are people who prefer evil than good and because of that God said that "Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book."

meaning our name or being is written in the book of life but if we sinned GOd is going to remove us from the list.

to make it simple, babies have no knowledge of evil and good therefore they do not sinned to God.

original sin is not true. there is no original sin like what the other faith are trying to put in the mind of people .

the resurrection that i am talking about where in babies that will never experience resurrection is the resurrection after the 1000 years period. of course babies will be resurrected in due time. there are two types of resurrection. the resurrection before the 1000 year period begin and the resurrection after the 1000 years period reign of Christ.

age has no effect on our spiritual body. when you read about angels that visited people in the bible, they were described as young adults, mid twenties. and in the begging God said let us make man in "our" image. so about mid twenties

I do not believe that when we crossover we will no longer need our bodies. Our bodies are only a shell or vehicle for our souls.

We are all souls with a spirit, and those of us still existing on Earth have a physical body to "operate" with. I truly believe that once the body dies and the spirit crosses over to what you call the afterlife, earthly "age" no longer exists. You and your Mom will be together as the true essence of who you both are. Until then - believe she's watching over you. My Dad passed over several years ago, but I can feel his presence. I even talk to him sometimes, and I know he hears me. Your question is very thoughtful. But I don't think the "earthly age" factor should be of any concern. I wish you a good life.

'Age' doesnt exist after death. We either go directly to heaven/hell or our souls rest or wait until Christ returns and then we go the way we will go. Either way our physical bodies are gone and things like age have no place or meaning. What 'physical' form we have, if any, in heaven/hell is unknown but it wont involve earthly concepts like 'age'.

You get a new body that looks younger, like 15. Everyone will look young and beautiful in Heaven with our new glorious bodies. You will also be able to recognize everyone. I've read several books about Heaven and about those who went to Heaven and came back. Heaven is a perfect place.

The Bible does not say. Could speculate. Perhaps the age Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead--~33 years.

It really does not matter. There is no more aging, but bodies will be immortal, without sickness, pain, disease.

According to the Quran and the Hadith in heaven every body will have the same age.

when a person lives with Jesus, they will remain 33. That's how old He lived on earth, it is also considered by science, to be the "climactic perfect/utopia" of culture, where men and women produce the most genetic hormones needed for reproduction...children will grow old, and the young will learn...no two will dwell in the same house, but there will be much growth and expansion for much of eternity...
