Can my dad get custody of me?

He was my mom's sperm donor (it wasn't an anonymous thing, they were friends) and he kept in contact until I was like 7. My mother died when I was 10 and I've been in foster care since. I made contact with him last year and we've been getting closer. He talks about me coming to live with him and being a family with his other children. I want to know if this is possible? He was technically a sperm donor. Also we live in different states if that makes a difference.

Real "sperm donors" are anonymous. You said he was your moms friend. I think your mom would be honored to have her friend raise her child rather then the foster care system. Please don't call him your sperm donor.....
He is your dad. :0)

You should both contact attorneys in each of your states.

My husband and a couple guys from Church are gonna take out the motor in our truck and rebuild it. Starting this weekend so hopefully it goes well and he will have his wheels back! He is acting like a caged animal! Lololololol!

bet he is. it will make you go crazy without the wheels for some reason. did me when I had my truck in the garage Tuesday getting worked on not knowing when it would be fixed. luckly didn't take but 8 hours.

I would talk to your case/social worker and see what they think. As far as I know he should be able to with a blood test and some paperwork. Laws and processes are different from state to state, but generally it's less a question of if and more a question of how long will it take and what are the steps to accomplish it.

Get a blood test for proof he is your father. He can then go for custody of you.

If he's listed as your dad on the birth certificate it would help out. But if not, they can probably offer DNA testing to prove the relation if needed. Talk to the foster care case worker to see how to follow through.
