My friend isn't letting me do anything. I need help making her let me do something.

Me and two others are writing a book. One of them already wrote the prolugue and chapter one without telling us. I came up with the idea for the book, but she's changing it and writing without explaining. Now I don't understand what's happening in the book and it's MY idea. She doesn't let us do anything. she isn't even listening to my ideas. it's annoying, but I don't want to end our friendship. sometimes I feel like it's HER book, not OUR book. she's like, let's all try and write a chapter 1 tonight and mash it up tommorow, but she ends up using her idea. It's really irritating. I don't even know who half of her characters are now. and guess what? I created a character, then she turned it into an elf.

If your friendship is debatable over just a book idea, it's kind of weak. Just putting that out there. And talk to her. Have a SERIOUS talk with her. And if that doesn't work, write the story before she does. Write it on google docs and share it with your other friend. Then you two can work on it, only. PEACE!!!

Why don't you tell her? tell her you feel like she's taking over, and that this should be a group project. TEAMWORK. Also, maybe instead of writing it all together what you guys should do is alternate every chapter. Like she writes the first one, another writes the second, and you write the third? Then, three days later when you meet up again you can all wrk on revising it together.

This is an opportunity to learn to stand up for yourself .She's not the boss unless you let her be. Tell her what the problem is,tell her how you feel about it,tell her what you want.

Bloomxx is right. Simple. If she doesn't like it then too bad. Team has no "I" in it if she wants to be apart of it!

It's actually a pretty bad idea for you all to write a chapter if none of you are on the same storyline. You can't just write random chapters and then "mash" it together without having to re-write some of it. Sounds like she's got a story in her head and just went with it. I'd just say screw it and let her do her thing and the rest d you can all work together developing a story of your own.

Tell her what you think. If you have to, write a book with the others while she working on the book that you're supposed to be sharing. Then you could show her what you have and see if there's some way to collaborate the stories together.
