Sure, You can still go to the brothels in most of Nevada but I think TX has banned it all. Amsterdam seems to be the best place to shop if you're in the market. They really try to cater to to all tastes & budgets. The women rent their store front, it has a large picture window & if she isn't helping out another consumer she'll chat you up. If she doesn't have any interest in that she'll direct you to who does, just lovely girls. A number of years back the Red light district was getting a black eye & the girls went on strike. Street Walkers had planted themselves on every corner. So unlike here, the government spoke with people, heard the complaints & made everybody happy. The girls got the store fronts & the "gentlemen" callers & the hookers (street walkers) got a street. They built a place for street walkers to work, the men payed a fee the gate was lifted & you drove around Epicott Hoe center. They actually built stalls so you could pull in, park & not see you wife in the next stall. Everybody wins, thank God that the US, that country trying to get as far from all religion, ethics, morals & common sense would keep it illegal

Yes. In a few countries, hookers can get liscenses to do their business legally, and *mostly* risk free. All people who hire them must take an STD test and wear protection.

Yes and controlled! I am personally a fan of legalizing prostitution and drugs. Smoking is legal and I don't smoke! I am not going to start using heroin(sar) just because its legal and those people that are using it obviously don't care that its illegal? So if we legalized these things and taxed and controlled them we could benefit from the tax money (schools, roads, museums, children's programs ect.) and the control would be helping the people that are forced into prostitution or have diseases, or addiction problems. People are just scared that legalizing it would be saying that these things are Ok, but like I said before, we do fine teaching our youth that smoking and drinking are bad and they are legal!???

Prostitution has been legal in my state for almost 20 years now but, even before then, it was taxable. I'm not sure how the rate of earnings was determined.

I remember reading a newspaper article about it many years ago in which it was reported that one working girl listed her employment as "nocturnal activities".

It's legal in the Netherlands, but someone said it's legal in Las Vegas. Didn't know that at all. I assumed not legal at all in the US. I support the groups that are putting them out of business. See www.SharedHopeInternational.org
