How do I learn a new language?

should I learn grammar first? or remember all the vowels and consonants? I'm not sure what to do first. But I've started trying to learn by memorizing the alphabet and how to write it. (the language is hangul)

Try rosetta stone. It's a wonderful tool to help you.

Have you tried the rosetastone program, it is expensive but it seems to work.

you have to practice it, that's the only way you can learn a new language.

How old are you? The best way is to take classes on it with a teacher right in front of you.

I did learn some Korean when I was stationed there many, many years ago. I learned through total immersion. I was pretty good after two years but I never was able to learn their alphabet (hangul). Unfortunately I have forgotten most of what I learn over time due to not being able to practice. I would suggest you seek a formal class and if one is not available try a local university and seek out Korean students who would trade you conversational English lessons for Korean lessons.
