When i was in high school they forced us to run for less than mile and I remember i was one of the worst student ever though i was very skinny those times and always I was out of breath though other students were so comfortable ,,, now after years of not running and lifting heavy I am 230 LB with 6.2 my Body fat is 16% i am kind of big boy i am lifting for years but i had never run before , Now i have to run 2 miles in 18 min ,,, I guess today i could reach 2 miles in 19 min but my legs hurting so bad , I was not even able to walk ,, i never had this much pain with my leg ,, What should i do? I only have one month left and I need to get ready before my basic training .. Should i take running classes ?

Classes? For what? Just go run. Once you arrive at basic, your training regimen and diet will be decided for you. You will improve. You will pass your quals. They *will* motivate you.

Build it up! I have the same problem and I have been hitting the gym constantly and it has been paying off. Good Luck! I have a test coming up for JROTC coming up soon so I know the sucky feeling.

Conditioning takes time and effort. Jogging, not sprinting of course. Force yourself to run a mile, walking when you need to but do that every day. Start getting up early and do pushups. Good luck!

You'll need to build the stamina. A good rule is find a distance that pushes you but your comfortable with. Run that 3 times a week for 2 weeks then increase by 10% Rise and repeat. Increasing your total distance by too much can lead to injury.

Put on your sneakers and go outside and start running. If you see a rabid dog run past it. Consider it motivational as the dog starts chasing you.
