Spinning dancer illusion?

Is it true that if you close your eyes and visualize it spinning the other way for a few seconds, it will be spinning that way when you open your eyes? Does it work for you?

Did you get it to work for you? I can't get it to work. How long did you visualize it spinning the other way before you looking at it again?

Try looking at the leg she's standing on. First imagine it as her right one, after that as her left one.

You don't have to close your eyes --for some people it will just appear to change direction
I can usually get it to flip just by watching it for a few seconds

I'm having trouble imagining the leg she's standing on as right and then left. I only see it as left. Should I look away and try to picture her standing on her right leg? Is that what you mean?

Try this:

There's a 'r' on her leg, so maybe it's easier.
I closed my eyes the first time

Ok I'll try that. So the first time, you closed your eyes and imagined the dancer standing on the other leg to make it switch directions? Are you able to imagine it without closing your eyes now?

Yeah, I can imagine seeing her dancing on her right leg, but every first time I still see her spinning on her left leg.
