Your right, it is Xin Nian Kuai Le in standard mandarin, the widely used Chinese language. I am trying to write the word in Chinese characters but unfortunately a different character appears on the answer board. Just translate the word from this link. http://www.worldlingo.com/

That's Cantonese (Gung He Fat Choy). Putonghua is MANDARIN. Xin Nian Kuai Le is correct and most commonly understood throughout China. You go to China and say "Gung He Fat Choy!" and they'll look at you like you're speaking French.
It's ignorance of China, I know. Most of the Chinese people the average western person meets at home are Cantonese. Why? Two reasons. The Cantonese (who are from Guangdong Province, capital is Guangzhou, and who settled Hong Kong) were the first Chinese to trade with foreigners. They were also the first Chinese to leave China as slave labour to build railroads (California), work on farms (Hawaii) and so on.
