What does it mean when you have blood clot when your on your period?

ok so ive been on my period for 4 days and i have a lot of blood clots ... is this normal for a 13 year old? this happens a lot and i want to know if i should be worried and seek medical help

This is a normal part of your 'monthly friend' (although I have NEVER quite figured out why it is called a 'friend!) The flow is part of the cleansing. Your body actually sheds skin and a layer of mucous from your uterine lining. It happens every 28 days (or so)

It's called a friend because it is part of our lives and bodies.

Those aren't blood clots. You aren't bleeding from an artery. It's just part of period. You may be dehydrated a bit, though.

thanks but there is no way im dehydrated..... i have to constantly drink water so my heart doesnt stop....
