Foot was amputated last year but still having tremendous pain on my pad. Is there a specialist I can talk to?

It is not phantom pain it is pain that is keeping me from getting my prosthetic fitted My doctor (VA Doctor) says I shouldn't have pain so he is no help please help!

First, thanks for serving. Second, You will survive this (and come out stronger than you were!)
I know it stinks, but have you considered going 'outside' the VA to see a private Prosthetic Dr for a second opinion? Just an office visit? I know it is more money out of pocket. But sometimes getting an outside opinion helps.

Are you in support groups? I would imagine you are, so are the others talking about this issue? You may not be alone in this. Talk to others (not Dr's but patients) to see what others are experiencing.

Not all people heal the same rate. God Bless and Good Luck.

Search a new specialist, you should be able to find some resolution, or at least answers. Good luck!
( search outside the VA)
