How do you deal with a person who always has to get his own way

this person thinks only of himself and must be the center of attention

Some people(Like me for instants) love it when things go the best for others regardless of how it may affect them(I know I'm a small minority). Often the person may not realize it but having it "their way" could be very detrimental to them. It can often never be clear to you or them how this with negatively affect them, often it won't be seen for months even year. But there will always be that knowledge in the back of your mind that you know their way is harming them more than helping. The challenges we face when things can't "go our way" with strengthen us more than enduring any injuries that may be inflicted. Just always know that your strength will continue to grow because you deal with things going the way other want them.

Everyone wants things their own way, a person will inevitably do that which brings them the most pleasure, except in cases where they didn't think something completely through.

Consistently? Relationship require compromise to survive. I would sever any further involvement.
