The people who talk meanly about Muslims usually bring up stereotypical issues that never actually occur. When people bring up anything about being a terrorist around them, i want to scream. It is not fair to them because not all of them think that way.
People talk meanly about muslims all the time. I dont know what you are talking about.
I am guessing this is true but I have no way of verifying. There are probably very few Muslims or openly practicing Muslims in your community. Thus, from your point of view, it would appear that Christianity is being picked on because that is what you see. The fact is, if you make a claim, any claim, it is FAIR that it should be challenged by others. Insisting that your statements CANNOT be criticized because of religious protection actually exists as a system of government. It is called a THEOCRACY. Countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran suppress religious criticism. You can't have it both ways. You either have freedom of speech or you don't. Claiming freedom of speech but making religion exempt is not freedom of speech, it is called censorship. So your question is not about criticizing religion but about forms of government and the restrictions that should (or should not) be imposed on the ability to speak freely.
As a Muslim living in the US I have experienced hatred. There is no fight over Christianity no one is trying to take away your rights. Muslims just want the hatred we experience to stop. I have experience Christians being okay with crosses but when a Muslim walks in wearing a hijab some people have problems and try to get them to take it off.
We criticize religion if the religion merits it. Both Christianity and Islam present social problems. Both can be talked about but in America, its typically Christianity stirring up politics so they jump into the cross hairs. If every religion would respect secularism we would not need to throw so much criticism at these religions but Christianity is bent on nonsecularism and Sharia law is the same way.
It's okay to criticize any religious position in America- freedom of speech ensures that. What you don't have is the right to be free of criticism FOR your speech.
It is a paranoid persecution complex that makes some Christians think everyone is ganging up on them and protecting Islam. It just isn't so. In fact, Muslims ranked right behind atheists and gays as the most hated groups in America- clearly LOTS of people are "talking bad" about all those groups.
Well I'm not sure where you live, but in the USA, many more people make fun of and criticize muslims, than christians, by 10 to 1 easily. Not saying that's right, no one should be abused or made fun of. But if they are just talking about the religion, that's not the same. Every religion should be criticized and made fun of, because they are ignorant beliefs that are holding humanity back from their true potential.
I get what you are saying, alcall. We, as a Christian majority nation, are being told to shut up, sit down, and let other races and peoples and their religion run over us to complete the agenda of taking us over. And we are not supposed to even protest. We are supposed to be quiet blind sheeple while laws are created for us, that don't apply to 'them'. We are to clam it when political correctness is jammed down our throats. And hand over our goods and country without a whimper when we should be shouting and fighting back. Yeah, I can see your frustration. And I share it. I rest in Jesus and look forward to His intervention that so many are denying He has the power to preform. Won't that be the day!
