What is the best way to fade old acne scars on your face?

There are many over the counter products out at your local drug store you can purchase to have fade acne scars, but if you are like me, I don't like to spend a lot of money and I prefer a more natural approach. One way I found to lighten scars is with lemon juice. I know it sounds a little strange but it really works! I would squeeze some lemon juice onto a cotton ball and cover your scar with that cotton ball for roughly 10 minutes. Do this twice a day for about 2 weeks and you will see a difference. Be careful when using lemon juice because it will make you more sensitive to sunlight so be sure to wear sunscreen.

To help fade/remove acne scars on your face you can try a product from Noixia which is made to slowly remove these scars layer by layer. It is a slow process but does help. The product is called Naweko San Joyz made by Noixia. Or, you can try a home remedy of baking soda and water solution. Use this daily to clean the skin. It will take about 2 weeks to see an improvement.

A dermatologist can recommend creams or lotions that is best suited for your skin type too.

Not toothpaste becuase it will turn your face red and it will burn. I suggest a facial scrub and facial lotion, aveeno products. It really worked for my skin.!

This sounds odd but I swear by this, coconut oil is a miracle worker. I have a friend who use to have horrible acne scars she started putting coconut oil on her skin every night before bed and now all of her scars are gone, she has flawless skin now. Coconut oil melts at around 70 degrees so when you buy it, it is in a solid form but you are able to put it on your face like lotion. You can buy it at Whole Foods, just make sure you get Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. I swear it's the best thing I've done for my skin in years.

Hydroquinon...anything stronger than 4% is usually by perscription...it takes some time and you should not apply if you are going to be exposed to sunlight (sunscreen should always be worn anyway) if you are looking for faster results you should check with a dermatologist...laser treatments work wonders for blotchy skin...you will see results at the first session...keep in mind this is a costly procedure and usually more than one session is required.

To get rid of acne scares I would take a liquid gel vitamin E capsule poke a hole in it with a pin squeeze out the liquid and rub into the scares. I did this on a old scar I had for about 4 weeks. And now you would never even know it was there.
Good luck!

I have struggled with acne and the scars it leaves behind for a while now. Some products that I have found to be of great use are Aveeno positively radiant moisturizer with SPF 15, it cost about $15 but the walmart brand is only $5 and works the same and has the exact same ingredients. Also, Olay toner. I can't recall the exact name off the top of my head but it a blue liquid and cost around $4. Bleaching creams with sunscreen may also prove to be beneficial. Good Luck to you.

I have heard dermabrasion is quite effective for this. Acne scares, obviously depending on how deep they are, fade with age too.
