Why does my crush act weird around me?

OK first off he talks to everyone but me and whenever he's around me he's either silent or has something random to say such as "eww why are you eating little turds" but he said it while smiling they're actually pretzels BTW
And he stares at me in class a lot once he looked me up and down and today in Mrs kays class he took my pencil out of my hand the teacher told him to give it back so he did and when he walked passed me again he took it away from me again but this time he threw the pencil at me and the weird thing is that he always looks me in the eye when I'm close to him?? What's up with this???

Report as

well I am 25 and in my experience of boys that usually means that they like you back. he may be nervous around you then others. the whole pencil thing sounds to me like flirting. good luck and I hope he can have the courage to tell you soon

Is he a pathological narcissist or sociopath? Not making any assumptions, just suggestions.

Report as
Lol what the heck.
Report as
I could be wrong.
Report as
Just saying, what the questioner defines is like the behavior of a psychopath.
Report as
I think psychopathy incorporates narcissism and sociopathy.
Report as
Sorry for my intensity-I'm stressed and I must just be taken it out on you. But narcissists have a defensive self-esteem, and an unrealistic perfected view of themselves. They respond to criticism or what they think may be criticism with guilt or shame; they get very angry, and insulted, and will often shout in what is called "narccistic rage," when they feel you've insulted their perfected idea of who they are. They have a very hard time seeing anyone else's view outside of their own and have no empathy for others. My mother, who actually IS, a narcissist, will twist my words and accuse me of insulting her when I am merely sharing that my feelings are hurt by something she may have done, so forgive me if I find the notion of a boy immaturely teasing somewhat as narcissistic trivializing to what a narcissistic person really is. You have to walk on eggshells around them when trying to resolve something with them. If you ask them to be sensitive, they accuse you of accusing them of being insensitive, horrible, and not caring, ect. They're emotionally abusive and very hard to live with.
Report as
Yes I know, I'm in cognitive psychology and have had multiple encounters with people whom I believe are narcissists. Just using what I think I know to answer this question.
.
I'm very sorry your mother is afflicted like that, and you too. I hope the best. And no worries about "taking it out on me." I understand.
Report as
Have I said something wrong?
Report as
Thanks for understanding, and sorry again. Trust me though; this isn't narcissism. Narcissists are generally ok to interact with as long as you don't try and resolve conflicts with them, as they have a difficult time feeling for you, and seeing views outside their own. It's so complicated to explain. A perfect example would be when I tell my mom, "hey, it upset me when you did this or I felt upset when you did this___, so in the future, could we work on that?" (I tried to re-word this made me upset, because she'll snap, "I will NOT be accused of this, or I can't make you feel anything.") She'll yell that I'm accusing her of making me feel a certain way, or tell me that I am accusing her of having bad intents. Your back is against a wall either way with them. Forget giving them any type of constructive critism-you might as well just told them that they were a horrible person, and how dare you. It's VERY hard. I'm scared of her, honestly. I don't get to try and resolve my feelings with her, without risking feeling worse afterwards, so I bottle up. Sometimes I do need to resolve and issues with her, and that makes my heart pound. With all due respect, the people you're dealing with most likely aren't narcissists. This kid most likely is not. I've lived with it- even as a child, she refused to see my views and thought I needed to change certain aspect of my personality-such as my lack non-touchiness, to match hers. It's never them-they rarely see themselves as at fault or in need to accept others differences.
-
That's cool. I'm taking general psychology. Cognition is actually a branch of psychology, along with evolutionary, behaviorism, and humanistic. It's really interesting though I quite enjoy it. :) We've covered some neat topics. And thank you. Sorry I dumped that-I just think most people misunderstand it. Narcissists aren't interested in being teasing or pestering, and contrary to popular belief, they're not neccasrily conceited.
Report as
No, you're fine; your response was pretty reserved and polite considering I snapped at you.
Report as
Because you claim to have a narcissistic mother AND be in psychology class I trust your input more than mine. I'm only self-taught. Correct me on anything if I'm wrong but when I say this kid may be a narcissist I don't imply that narcissists have any interest in teasing people. That doesn't make sense considering the psychological structure of narcissism (that I'm aware of). What I really mean to imply is that this kid is subtly socially dominating her. Have you heard the difference between overt narcissists and covert narcissists? Overt narcissists are ones who are rather obvious in their grandiose mentality. Covert narcissists are ones who have a much more cunning; tactical; subtle and not obvious way of getting people to admire them. Very often they use Social Psychological principles of Persuasion to get what they want.
.
So, while you have (or believe you have) experience with an Overt Narcissist (am I right?), I believe I have experience with Covert Narcissists. As long as you see my explanation practical—and currently I trust you whichever way it goes—I think you and I have totally different experiences with Narcissism.
.
By the way please don't get upset, I'm trying to be as considerate as I can.

I don't know, this is also the way psychopaths act.
Report as
I have a narcissistic mother; that's not at all how they act. Doesn't fit the description of a psychopath either. Just typical immature boy behavior.

Okay Beautifulmess, thanks for your opinion.
