Absolutely not! I've known many men and women that have jobs like Dr, teacher, nurse, firefighter, police.... Etc that were bad people and I didn't like that they were in the position they were. People who didn't know them assumed they were good people and might find out the hard way.
No. Many fires are started by firefighters. I don't mean to suggest that there is anything but a small percentage of firefighters that would do that. But it just seemed like the most ironic example of bad things that some firefighters do. Being a fire fighter is a dangerous job. Some folks just like danger so they gravitate to that kind of work. Fire fighters do some amazing things by saving lives and property. Their contribution to society should not be overlooked. But every fire fighter is a person and all people have failings and faults.
From your responses to the answers ... it almost sounds like you're more concerned about how you are viewed for being a firefighter, than you are about the job itself ... and in that case, NO - being a firefighter does not make you a "good person".
What "makes" a good person is not only their actions ... but their motives.
