can you help?

I am having a birthday party tomorrow, and my mother asked me to invite my friends. Anyway, it will probably be one of my last, setting as I am turning 16 and I don't want to invite my friends. The reason is, I Am worried they will get bored and start saying how much it sucks. I really don't want to hurt my mother's feelings, so I definitely don't want my friends doing it. I wouldn't worry, it's just that, high schoolers can be crule. What do I do?

First, I think it's great that you're thinking about your mom's feelings. She obviously loves you and wants to do something nice for you. Second, you are in a bit of a tough spot. 16 year olds generally don't think very forgiving of parents. If there was more time before your party, I would have suggested telling your mom you wanted to help with the planning of the party and then you could make it more conducive to you and your friends' likes as opposed to your mom's best guesses about what you would like. Still, with all that said, I think if you friends are really your friends and especially if they know your mom, they will be fine and won't get on your case. Good luck. Happy Birthday. Try to enjoy your party.

The best route may be to tell her you are too old. High schoolers won't be interested unless certain factors are involved, which can't be around if certain people are there

What you should do is invite like 1 or 2 friends over and have like a sleep over. Do whatever u think is fun for all of you. Not sure if you play video games but my best friends are the ones who I have common interests. We play call of duty all the time. So just play what you like or do whatever u want with em. If you have to have a bunch of kids over invite them and play manhunt it's like tag at night. It's soooooooo fun
