What is this persistence module?

Whenever I start my pc, I get this window saying that persistence module has stopped working. I tried restoring to the past when this problem was not to be found but no luck. Any Guesses what should I do? Thanks

Here's how to fix it 1. Click Start
2. Point to All Programs
3. Point to Accessories
4. Point to System Tools
5. Click System Restore and click on Next button
6. Select the desired restore date (prior to the problem appearing)
7. Click on Next button.
8. Click on Next button to begin the restore process.
9. Click on Yes in the confirmation message box that opens.

The computer will shut down and restart automatically after the restoration completes.

Note: Your personal files will not be affected by going back to an old restore point...only the Windows system files are rolled back.

ADDITIONAL ANSWERS:
I didn't say do a Windows Reinstall, I only said to go back to a restore point. Most computers create System Restore points every week, so you should have some restore points to go back to. You won't lose ANY important files by going back to an old Restore Point.

If you cannot find System Restore as mentioned in my steps, then try to get there by going to START > HELP & SUPPORT > then click on UNDO CHANGES TO YOUR COMPUTER WITH SYSTEM RESTORE. Then follow the instructions onscreen from there.
