I do that all the time most people do it so it dosent show and affect other people you can normaly see it in there eyes or the way they smile but some people can tell by their aura like my sister one time when I was in the kitchen I was really sad but hid it instantly my sister noticed and asked me whats wrong? hope I helped
Yes, but I think it shows in the eyes. Always smiling with the mouth and not the eyes ought to be a tip-off. A lot of people won't notice someone is covering up depression or will pretend not to notice because it's socially just easier.
I think only for awhile..pretty soon the depression will get more severe to the point where smiling will take up your energy..and you won't be able to even do that... I think you should get some help. I had depression since I was a child, although I wasn't diagnosed..I always though about ending it so I must have been.
Yes, unfortunately it's quite common and it even becomes habit. This can make it very difficult to even seek out the help one needs. since the "I'm happy... really" act has been well practiced and difficult to break even for a doctor/therapist who can and wants to help! The best thing one can do is schedule such an appointment and keep remembering that honesty now will be the best shot at appropriately treating the depression and feeling truly happy for once, so it is worth all the initial discomfort. While not immediate, things will start to improve or at the very least more treatment options (geared toward the exact nature of the depression) become available and easily accessible.
