A collage is a bunch of pictures put together to make a jumbled photo album/scrapbook. A college is a school you go to to learn about high jobs that you can't get without going to college, and they give you more lessons on stuff you are good at.

Nah, not at all.
If you don't mind working at fast food restaurants, gas stations, convenience stores, and so on... making minimum wage (or slightly more), for the rest of your life. If that's fine with you, don't go to collEge.
CollEge is only important if you care about having a career that you may actually enjoy, something that's more than a boring, miserable job; having a career that means something to you, that pays well, etc... :)
(Go to collEge!)

In order to get a job that fully supports you, and maybe some day a family. Minimum wage was never meant for you to survive. It was meant so you can go to college, or supplement your income. Some people do make it without college, but those people are in big trouble if that business or job is no longer needed. Say you are manager, business fires you, you are not going to walk in and be manager of another place...you would have to work up again. If you had piece of paper, business degree, etc, you could walk into business. Think about it! I knew this guy who worked himself up in company, 15 years. He would have went to 4 years in college he could have started in that position and making more money. So, you thinking short term, or long term?

I disagree with being forced to take liberal arts core curriculum, but as for attending college to get a professional degree for your career path, yes it is very important.

It is thinking like this which is the reason why there is such a high incidence of uneducated people in this country. It's the difference between an education, and a glorified vocation.
Report as
Which is also why I would propose high expectation levels when accepting students, thus putting more pressure on the importance of high school education. By doing so, high school education would be taken far more seriously by both teachers and students. Not to mention, being accepted into a college with such expectations would be an achievement in itself.

Depends on what you want to do. Billy Joel and Elton John never went to college.

Yeah, totally!! Colleges are what help you get a joob paying job, so if you have a goob paying job, you have money!
I'm not saying that people that don't go to college don't have money. Some people are very "up" in the world, and they have never gone to college. But you don't want to take a risk like this. Yes U can always go back to school, it just takes longer and it is way harder.
Just like clawal said, Billy Joel and Elton John never went to college, but you never know what you are gonna do with your life, so better to not take such a big risk.
:D
