How can I improve my posture?

I have TERRIBLE posture and I want to fix it while I'm still you but what's the best way of doing so? Just remembering to put you shoulders back doesn't work and I've read about posture braces and exercises but what's the best way? thanks :)

Push the top of your head up toward the sky. Keep your shoulders back & down. Pull your tummy in as far as you can but breathe normally. Stretches are good to keep your body in whatever position you want. If you can't get on the floor to exercise/stretches it can be done in bed or a chair.

Sit up straight. Its an easy way to start. Get into yoga and stretching. Even when you walk, stand straight up, shoulders back, chin up.

Try sitting up straight, when you run, don't slouch, and crack you're back. I know it may seem odd, but it is the truth!

Line you heels, upper back, head, and hips to a wall and hold that position while walking if that's too hard pretend like your hanging from a string while walking it keeps your head held high and also improves your attitude (Its said slouching can make you look and feel depressed)

Actually you must be sure at first that you don't have any problems in your vertebral column , because this may need a doctor ,,, But in order to save your time " Because your case may need more information about where is the defect in your standing in your upper back or in your lower back ,or in your neck ,, also your age ,,and the condition of your belly muscles ,,and your kind of work ,, and your general health ,and your psychological nature " it could be many factors to reach the good frame of standing ,,But sure sports very important to build strong abdominal muscles ,as well as strong back and neck muscles , with good food and with good social and good psychological trust ,,For the back muscles and abdominal muscles any sport book can be of help ,but you must be sure that you don't have any real vertebral problem ,, also the back brace and shoulders brace could be of temporary help ,but not for a permanent help only in hopeless cases , because they may cause more muscle weakening ( generally the treatment ,muscle exercises ,and self confidence ,with good food and rest ) ..

If you're not a student and you have a job that requires you to sit at a desk all day, bring a stability ball to sit on instead of a regular desk chair. The ball will make you sit up straight since there isn't a back to lean on. Personally I think they are more comfortable than some desk chairs. Also doing core exercises and working on back muscles should improve your posture.

Stretch a lot. Every morning when you wake up, you can take your fingers, lock them together, and push your arms forward. To Stretch your legs, squat down, and bounce up, and repeat it over and over. Stretching helps build up your muscles too, so you would be strong with great posture!

Walk with books on your head for as much as you can. Or if you don't want to use books use a tissue box. If you keep doing it your body will get used to it and will continue that posture.

By sitting up straight in every chair, and by walking straight like learning how to be a princess. Put books on your head the higher you with the books the better your posture will be. :)

When ever you sit down don't use the back rest(if the chair has one). Next is to have your feet flat on the ground it helps you sit up straight. Or if that does not work this is a joke put like a piece of wood or something on your back.
