What is a good (cheap) video editing software?

My friend and I want to start a YouTube Channel (yes I know it takes hard work, and extreme dedication. We are not expecting to be known for months, if not a year or two. But we are willing to put the work in) but we need a good video editor.

I've heard of a few that are like $700 and we do NOT have that type of money. So what is a GOOD, cheap (like $20 - $50) video editor?

We haven't made it yet, we are still brainstorming. We are planning on starting uploading sometime in December.

Adobe premiere it's only like 70 dollars Canadian and it comes with awesome lee sets if effects and stuff like that it makes tasks like chroma key easy
