Do fish ever sleep?

if they do, then how?

Report as

Yes, fish sleep. But it is not the same kind of sleep as we know. Fish do not have periods of REM in their sleep, while humans do. Fish sleep during the day, night, or any other time. A fish's sleep is simply a time period when it is inactive while its body restores its energy. I do not know currently of any fish that move while they sleep, but there may be one.
