What is the telephone number that when you call it tells you the exact time?

I remember from way back when calling the time number all the time. People now just turn on CNN and look at the time on the screen. The number to call can vary depending on where you live. Please see http://www.phworld.org/sounds/modern/timetemp/

Popcorn. Seriously, that's the number: p-o-p-c-o-r-n. At least that's what it was when I used to call. It might have changed since then, I haven't called in years.

I heard on CNN a year or two ago that they discontinued the time phone number - lack of use. It used to be 555-1212 or 800/555-1212 in CA.

You don't say where you are. It has been discontinued in California where it used to be 853-1212 from any area code in the south part of the state and popcorn in the north. Your mobile phone should be quite accurate.
