How do you know the pen is still there when one does not see it?

my teacher had shown us a pen and then asked us if it was a pen. then he placed in a drawer and shut it. he then asked us where the pen was. we said in the drawer but he asked us how we knew. has anyone heard this before?

The easiest and the best way to know whether the pen is in the drawer as the teacher says it is would be to request your teacher to open the drawer for you to look inside. The ratio of the pen being in the drawer is 1:2.

You don't! Your teacher is trying to be cleaver. It could very well be in the drawer. Or your teacher could have done some simple slight of hand. If you heard it drop into the drawer it is there. And depending on how he closed the drawer and if there was anything else in it you would have heard movement. What class was this?
