How to get rid of awkwardness?

I asked a girl out and she rejected me(not at all harsh though so I still like her) I didn't hang out with her much before I asked and I am also shy(not even sure how I asked her in the first place) it's been almost 2 months and I still can't approach her w/out feeling awkward.

You know it's really just an awkward situation. You're really putting yourself out there. It's awkward for the girl too. Like in your case. She obviously didn't want to hurt you and thinks you're a nice person. She's just not attracted to you in a dating way. I think the only way you truly get less awkward is by learning that this type if rejection is not usually a rejection of your whole person.

Become her friend first. Have friendly conversations with her. Be funny. Girls love humor (:

Be the hero in your problem. Don't feel awkward. Go for it, and if rejected, you still had the guts to do it, didn't you? Feel proud even if rejected, and if you get a yes, well, double bonus for youuu ! Just don't be afraid. Say whats on your mind and be honest.

Walk up to her and say, "WAFFLES!" Saying that is a good way to get rid of awkward situations, as well as get a good laugh. It also comes in handy between awkward pauses

I'm not the type of guy who blurts out random words... And she's not the type of girl who appreciates them...

I used to use Doorknob. Worked like a charm.

We never really had a friendship... We where in the same classes last year.
So I can't really pick it off from where I left off... Her reason for rejection was she didn't know me well enough too date me.. Thanks anyway though

Just get to know her on a friendship basis. Act as though you are interested in her personally and not just the romantic type of thinking.
