I have white spots on my fingernails. what dose this mean?

My fingernails have white spots on them. I don't use nail products. I think it may be something in my diet. I also chew my fingernails.

Zinc or protein deficiency is the most common causes. Injuries to the base of the nail can also cause them.
It's not calcium deficiency.
That belief is the result of calcium fortified nail strengthening products, not biology.

It shows lack of calcium. I'm not quite sure though.

Not enough vitamins. You should eat more fruits/vegetables and maybe take some vitamin pills (remember that they're not as good as fresh vegetables/fruits)

Put some olive oil or camomile oil every day on fingernail and it will help. Main reason is lack of minerals and vitamins in your organism
