I am considering taking a supplement called 5-HTP. Anyone have any personal experience of it? Good? Bad? Indifferent?
I suffer (I hate that word; I think it makes me sound pitiful, and I certainly don't feel pitiful) from mild depression, but also high blood pressure (currently under control). The sites I've checked are either selling the stuff (don't trust them for the truth), or spout gobble-de-gook about half-life (?!) in the body. My doctor gives me "the look" as soon as I say "supplement" unless I mean vitamins. So, as I said, any personal experience of it?
