I moved recently and can't afford to register vehicle in current state. What can I do?

I moved from WA to MD and now my WA tags are expired. I am really seriously broke right now, so I can't afford to pay the 6% tax (~$200), the tag fee ($128), new plate fee, ($???) and new MD license fee ($???). I tried to renew my WA tags online, but the online system wants me to change my address (declare new address of residence) before I can renew. If it was a matter of adding a mailing address, I would be able to give a friend's WA address & have them forwarded to me, but I think it would be stupid/dangerous to declare residency at my friend's address. HELP, please, I need my car, they are trying to bankrupt me here! You can't get water from a stone, you know!
All help is appreciated, Thank you in advance!

Move back. Call a taxi. Walk every where. I say use friends addy best option for u. I did when first moved to diff state. Ran my plates for a good year and licens before switching. But got lucky caused renewed in old state before I moved. Also if ya use friends addy follow traffic laws real close so cops won't stop ya. The first ideas were to make ya smile a bit hehe. Srry if they didn't.

See if you can renew your Washington tags by mail or on the internet. Tell them you are only temporary in MD

Lol. Washington "The Great North West". What a joke. They got you. There is nothing you can do. Only thing to do is not drive you vehicle. You get caught driving your vehicle it will get impounded for 30 days. Soooo 30 days of storage fees, the tow truck fee, impound fee, ticket, Probable loss of job, no way to get to stores. Your screwed. Should have thought about this before moving.

The law differs for different states, so it will be appropriate for you to visit the government premises and air your grievances. They may consider your plea, you being a new resident. Whats the big deal if you use someone else's address? Use it until you have enough money to get ur new reg. Cops aren't gonna really care. Your in transition of moving...and not for anything, but why would you move to another state and not have money? It makes it so much harder on yourself (i speak from experience). Just use the friends address for now...
