Breast health question for a 15 year old girl

a few days ago in in health class the nurse was tellin us that at this age we should start to get used to breast exams, they told us how to do them and when we get home we should try doing it ( to gets used to what's supised to be normal for us) so I did it today and I noticed SOMTHING, (dot k ow why my iPod Ceeps campaign SOMTHING) In both my boo s I felt SOMTHING hard and lumpy, I'm not pregnant and I would not know the reason for that being there, is this normal?

Many women have "lumpy" fibrous tissue in their breasts and this is completely normal, this is why you need to start doing these self exams now, so that you know what your breasts are supposed to feel like. Lumps that are new, are very very hard etc need to be checked by a Dr but you have very little to be concerned about at this age just get used to how your breasts feel and look so that later you will know if something doesn't feel "normal".

Do you drink a-lot of caffeine? If you do, this may cause a lumpy feel to your breast

It could be a tumor.

Mine get like that around the time that I ovulate. But if you are worried, check with a doctor.

Emynor

During puberty, lumps come and go due to hormonal variations.

Breasts are made up of fat and milk ducts. They are suppose to be a bit bumpy. Some women also have fibroids in their breasts which makes them even more bumpy. (My step-daughter has them) I would not worry if I were you. As you get used to doing the exams monthly you will learn what bump is where and how big it is. You will get to know them so well you will spot a change should there ever be one.

At 15 it's probably just glandular activity - so don't panic. See a doctor in any case to get some peace of mind.
