At what age can I let my hand raised black duck go to defend for himself?

Have had him since he left the nest have had him under a light and hand fed him with chick starter he is now quite big and eating all sorts of stuff but I am thinking if he can't fly yet the foxes may get him.

Maybe you can hand him over to people who know how to do this. Ask your vet for suggestions.

Age 1- 1 1/2 is best to let him go.

I don't think you should let it go because you have given it everything it needs, so therefore it doesn't know how to get food for itself.

You mean fend for himself. And he won't. Basically you are fattening up some creature's Christmas dinner.

What age isn't the question, you shouldn't have had it in the first place. Now if you let it go after you have given it everything it needed for survival it... it most likely will die in the wild. But if it's still very young and haven't had it for very long find a flock of geese so that it can learn.. but that probably will be hard
