Not sure what they are called so I can find a pic on the web.There's usually two of them displayed together They are cartoon-like....

one is laughing and one is crying. ( often displayed in a mask form ) vintage looking and possibly having to do with drama and theatrics. What are they called ?

drama and comedy. you put out the mask to advertise what kind of play you were putting on. a drama was when a character dies and a comedy was when no one died.

Comedy/ tragedy mask are the universal sign for theatre, its origins are from the ancient Greek.

They come from the ancient greek theatre and are called Persona, standing for comedy and tragedy. Similar masks were used in the italian renaissance theatre, known as Harlequin and Bajazzo. Today they are often used as a pictogram for theatre.
