Im 18 yearsold and have the option to work at Chase bank as a teller or a sales associate at Bath and Body Works. I can't decide! Opinions?

Or in this day and age, better benefits. I will add that once you have been trained as a bank teller, you can take those skills wherever you go. Also, there may be room for advancement in the banking industry. Good luck.

I agree! My uncle worked in banks for 20+ years and he had thousands in savings just to spend on his nephews and nieces when we visited!

my guess is that the job at the bank will probably pay better and possibly become a career, depends on what you are looking for

Chase Bank, shows constant customer interaction and a good accountability with money which are two large strengths future employers look for. Also, your chances for advancement at a bank are much better than that of a retail position. These days, your resume sells your true first impression and personal accountability with the most important commodity, money, is more valued than a two hour training course on the difference between a duvet and a comforter. As long as you enjoy your job, it will show with current and potential future employers. Best of luck!

Chase Bank is in trouble now, and no good accountability.

True, but the experience and pay would lead to better jobs in the future. Selling knick-knacks is a very niche market while every retail store and banking institution requires people that have had trustworthy experience handling large sums of money for future business. Retail offers very limited experience other than very low level customer service and accountability. The difference is that taking the job at Chase could lead to higher paying jobs and a career where very many banking institutions offer tuition reimbursement for college business and accounting classes while working around college/school schedules rather than minimum wage, few benefits, and little to no real transferable experience such as what is offered by the competition in this debate.

Choose Bath & Body. Chase might shut down. I don't know what to do since I have two accounts there, but they owe billions and I only get 3 cents interest on 3000 for my savings account. Besides that I lost $2000 and they couldn't come up with it. This happened when Obama was taking over the banks.
