Ahhhhhhhh so much! Star trek is quite a bit older, and a whole different storyline. In star trek, (The ones I watch) Captain Jean-Luc Picard makes captain log for his ship. In star wars, it's about jedis and the fights with the republic and federation.
Uh, Star Wars was in a Galaxy Far Far Away, and Star Trek is still in this Galaxy. Now, Star Gate SG-1 was a different story, if you had enough power, and the Seventh Symbol, you could go to another Galaxy, and never really have to have a spaceship. But, of course, Star Trek traveled at Warp Speed, and took days, weeks or months to get somewhere. Star Wars used Hyperspace jumps to get somewhere in a few hours. Star Wars used the Force, Star Trek used Photon Torpedoes. Star Wars was a written or rewritten by someone who missed the old "Cliffhanger Theater" movies of the early to mid 20th century. Star Trek was written by a man of vision, who wanted to confront current political and social issues (racial, social, and political), by using a futurist view. I could go on, I just love to discuss the effects of Sci-Fi on society.
