Don't ask them! Quit bugging them about it, and just occasionally hint every once and a while. Say things like, 'I know what a good name for a dog could be." or "I drew a really cool picture of a dog today'. And check books out at the library about taking care of dogs: Show them that you can be very responsible with a dog. And be totally ready for it, and let them know you're ready. A good book is 'Puppies For Dummies' haha. A few months ago, I got really depressed and I REALLY wanted a little dog and I knew there was no way my parents were going to get me one, so that's what I did and a few months later on Valentines day, my mom got my a puppy. Fortunately, I had already bought squeak toys, food bowls and a crate before I knew I might get a dog because I wanted one so bad! I even pretended I had one. So be very responsible and maybe depending on your parents they will chip in a get you one. :) Good luck!

Tie them up and force them to get you a dog and threaten to burn them, just kidding! Hmm, honestly you can ask them politely and tell them you will take care of the dog and pay for some of it and maybe even get your grades up or something of that sort.
