URGENT My dog keeps wrecking the house whenever we leave, we can't kennel her because she stressed herself out to the point where she pukes.

I need ideas ASAP for we are leaving on a trip tomorrow and can't leave her alone in the house for the dog sitter because we are afraid she will be badder than usual...

Separation anxiety is can be a very severe problem. She needs company during the day. THAT's why she's acting out .. not because she is just behaving badly .. she is having an anxiety attack .. just like people do. She may be a nervous or overly excitable dog to the point where when left alone she just freaks out..a very common problem.

How do I fix it?
Report as
Talk to a behaviourist for tips on how to calm her reaction to being left alone .. it's not something that you can fix overnight. I wish I could be of more help, but I am not an expert.

Ill definitely look into that thanks.

Do you think it would help if we were to get another dog?
Report as
For company .. might help. Foster one, even temporarily or adopt one from a shelter .. that is compatible with your dog. If you were to find a dog that is calm and gets along well with other dogs...it might just do the trick.

How nany times per day, and for how long do you walk your dog?

We don't walk her, we bring her to a big field and run around with her until she gets really tired. We do that twice a day.

I'm sorry but that's a mistake many make. The walk is so very important. I believe the proof is in the behavior you are seeing now.

I used to have a dog that did the same thing, it was very hard to do, but we gave him to a farm, but it depends on what dog it is

I wasn't trying to be rude and am sorry if it came across that way. It sounded to me like your dog is spoiled and acts out when he/she don't get her/his way. Sorry again if I came across rude. :0)
Hope all gets better for you and your doggie. :0)

Most vet places will house your animal while you're gone, call the veterinarian and ask them if they do that and how much it'll be. If all works out then make sure to take your dogs favorite toy, blanket, and food. Hope this helps with your problem :D and have a safe trip

I know she gets stressed, but she can't have run of the house. Perhaps the vet could prescribe a stress pill. If you won't kennel her, then take the paper off the roll and lock her in the bathroom or kitchen or some other room that you can close her into... When you get back, think about getting training for the dog and your family.

I suggested that to my mom, but we think she'd start to chew the door and the cupboards and stuff.

It's all about the way you discipline them when their growing up and after. My dogs are good dogs cause my stepdad disciplined them when they did something bad so they eventually found out what not to do.

Maybe show her a bunch of love right before you leave! Then to show her you will be back maybe flip a switch or put her outside! She most likely thinks your not coming back, if u do something to show her you will be back then she might calm down
