I'm in Utah and & look at our local news website or online newspaper. Similar to Craigslist but more options. I'd advise you to do an internet search for your local classifieds. For example I go to KSL.com & it has everything from news, weather, & the classifieds for Utah, Idaho & Wyoming. There are tons of inexpensive used cars for sale by owner as well as car dealerships. Another option is checking for your States Public Auto Auction. I've found a few sites in my area that allow you to browse through the inventory of used cars as well as government repossessed. Some you can buy at a great discounted price or you have the option of attending a public auction to name a price /bid on the vehicle you want. I bought my first car through a car dealership who went into the auction and placed a bid for me. I wanted a newer used car at the time & was able to get year old Nissan Sentra w/ only 20k miles for sev thousands less than going to a normal dealership and buying at their price. You don't have to have someone bid for you as there are auto auctions open to the public, just do a search online for the area you live in. Sorry for the long answer... hope you find what you are looking for!
