Hello, I have a 2002 Ford Taurus. Every morning when I start the car, I notice light white smoke and a burning smell. What could this be?

The smoke is coming from inside the engine. I've changed the belt and water pump. I've taken out the thermostat. The car isn't overheating and it drives fine. Could this be something minor?

List of possible problems:

-is it fuel injected or carb?
May be getting to much fuel from the carb

-may be burning oil, check all your gauges and oil.

-spark plugs??

What is a carb? And how do I check the fuel injector?

If it is smoking I would bring it in to get it checked out. It could be something minor, but since there is smoke I would be worried about it being dangerous.

I have taken it to be checked for leaks and everything else but, we can't find any.
