And what if the murderer didn't show his/or her victim or victims any mercy? Do they still deserve it? NO!
Report as
Thanks everyone!
Report as
How did they show their victims sympathy?? They killed them....
Report as
Some murderers torture their victims to death wile others just kill their victims with a single gun shot.
Report as
RBBDDB23
Exactly. Thank you Shaylen and Momo004. My point exactly.
Report as
My son is a medical examiner and he has seen victims tortured while being murdered. I won't do into detail but death had to be welcomed to victims.

I think it depends. Most times they don't.

My opinion is no murders don't deserve sympathy. People are so concern for the murderer they forget the victim. For every murderer there is one or more victims.

How about the toddler who shot his sister with the gun he found under his dad's bed? Technically, he killed his sister. It was an accident but you say the toddler doesn't deserve any sympathy? It was the father who is to blame, not the toddler but the toddler is the murderer.
Report as
Toddler doesn't know better. Father to blame for having gun where child can get it. Murder to me is someone that deliberately kills someone. Toddler didn't mean to kill. There are accidentally killing someone. Those people didn't mean to kill someone unless they were drunk or high on drugs and were driving. I'm talking about people that goes and kills someone cause they wanted too.
Report as
an accident is not considered murder
Report as
No accident is not murder. To me murder is when someone wants to kill someone. They set out to take someone life. Gang killings good example.
Report as
Like I said to someone else,... Not every person murdered is a victim.
Report as
Too me when a person is killed no matter how they become a victim. They didn't ask to die no matter how they died.
Report as
Killing is an animalistic instinct. Regardless we are animals. Example, house cats kill just for fun not food cause the bloodline still traces back to wild cats. Same with us. So our instinct regardless always goes with the most drastic outcome under certain circumstances.
Report as
Accidental killing can be a murder. A good example is reckless driving or DUI causing death of the victim. It's called manslaughter which is punishable 2nd degree felony, resulting in 2-20 years confinement with fine upto $10,000 or both. Tx.
Report as
Bruceyung: Agree. A car can be just as much a weapon as a gun. Might even include driving and texting to that

Oh, those poor children that get shot when a sibling or friend are playing with a stupid parent's gun and end up murdering their sibling or friend.

You all claim they don't deserve any sympathy because they are technically murderers but it's not their fault, the adults are to blame.
Report as
a murder is not an accident. So an accidental shooting by a child is not murder.
Report as
Father shouldn't had gun where a child could get it. My son has guns in his house. My 15 yr old grandson has no idea where they're kept. That's how it should be.
Report as
Summer, murder is intent to kill. A child playing with a gun is accidental.
Report as
666, dang near does, but one death is a crime the other is punishment. Thin line I know but I'm happy with it.
Report as
Iprice, my 15 year old daughter knows exactly where my guns ate and which one is loaded. She also knows the rule about the guns here, ask dad first.
Report as
He knows rule too. My son is a medical examiner and seen too many accidental shooting too many on purpose. He's more comfortable not letting kids know where guns are for now. It's a family choice. Not a do I trust my kids or not.
Report as
Iprice, his house his rules. Not every gun owner is comfortable with their kids knowing where the guns are. Here in this house is at least 35 guns. I grew up around guns my whole life, the same rule my daughter grew up with is the same rule I grew up with.

Maybe if the person was mentally ill. Or so distraught due to circumstances surrounding the murder. But generally speaking I would think not. Congratulations on your milestone of 100 questions!

Not one bit
Report as
It is not our place to even judge someone like Hitler. I don't like to think about it because I don't want to have hate for anyone. If I did he would have power over me. But don't worry he will be accountable for what he did and get his just reward. Leave it to God.

Hey Sam and who are you to tell me how to think. Because right there I feel like your judging me. "freedom of Speech";))

Sympathy and forgiveness are two different things! If you are Christian, you should forgive, but there's still no reason to sympathize for them. They did an evil act!

Agreed with the commenter

What's the difference between a cop killing an unarmed person, a kid that shoots there dad for year of abuse or a criminal or someone who pushes the button to lethally inject someone??? There is no difference, but yet we feel for one not the other. it's a messed up world. literally.

If there was a strong reason behind it like self defense.

To me self defense is not murder. It was either your life or theirs. You have right to protect yourself and family.

I'm not 100% certain but there are very super few that does. Here was a case of his son getting molested. Father finds out and out of sheer anger shot and killed the douchebag. He was found guilty for the murder. Judge showed him mercy during sentencing phase. He got a very light sentence and I have agree with the judge. But that's very rare.

What decent Father wouldn't want to murder someone that hurt their child? Father should not have even gone to trial. That's one douchbag that won't hurt another child.

Murder is wrong, but because someone does so, doesn't mean that they don't have feelings. Everyone deserves sympathy, but it's usually not best to release a murderer for obvious reasons. Everyone deserves respect, anyway.

This depends big time on what exactly the murderer did. Yes, they killed someone but what conditions were involved?

Murder isn't right, but it doesn't always mean the murderer is such a horrible person they don't deserve some sympathy.

My friend his wife and 3 children were driving home late one night. They were hit by a drunk driver. He lost his wife and 2 children. When I talked to him about it I told him I was praying for him. He said to me "are you also praying for the man who did this?" we had an amazing conversation. He had already forgiven this man for what had happened. I learned an amazing lesson. Even in his grief he was teaching me. Granted this was an accident. It was not deliberate. But we will be better ourselves if we can learn to forgive. Yes murderers deserve our sympathy. It may be very difficult and actually may seem impossible but it is a higher or better way of being.

yes they do they can have bad times going on but they deserve the same attention as the victims. yes, they took someones life but they just need some help just like cutters they cut themselves because they are asking for help you think they are bad people but what if they took their own life then you would think differently about them. they deserve sympathy
