Is there a way I can get internet service in my house without going through cable company?

I am not interested in cable or phone services. I just want internet service for my laptop. Any suggestions?

You can get internet without a land line phone or cable service. There are companies like Clearwire that you can get a modem that plugs directly into your computer and gives you internet.

U can get hughes net. They are satellite Internet and there doing free installation right Now. $100 value
