Why is a vehicle designed to go up to 200km/h ( for example ) , when its not even legal to drive at that speed? Whats the purpose?

Report as

for economy and efficency...if a vehicle was only designed to do 50 it would be running at its max . if designed to do 200 then it cruises at 60 and conserves energy

Our cars were originally created in countries like Germany, where people are allowed to drive any speed they would like to.

The only place where speed is not limited is the Autobahn....which is a very specific highway.

I forgot to mention that in my answer, but when I tried to edit it, the edited portion wouldn't save.
