Is it unhealthy to have peanut butter every day?

I'm a gymnast so 5 days a week i have a peanut butter all natural with an english muffin or half a bagel. Is it unhealthy to eat peanut butter almost everyday?

Peanut butter is a great weight gainer, and a great source for protein. It'd be ideal for you as a gymnast.

Although peanuts are good for you, most peanut butter products in the U.S. are made with hydrogenated oils that aren't particularly good for you in large quantities. Adam's peanut butter (and possibly smaller brands) uses untreated peanut oil, which is fairly good for you, but separates from the peanut butter and needs to be stirred back in before you use it.

Large amounts perhaps, but one serving everyday should be perfectly fine!

Its very healthy, Peanut butter is loaded with vitamin E.

I don't really think, it's unhealthy but if you are really a big conscious about your extra pounds... you should stay away from it... and have less of it...

I don't think it is necessarily unhealthy, just don't eat plain peanut butter in HUGE amounts every day. I mean, I'm an athlete and eat a pb&j sandwich every day. Not a lot of peanut butter, but still I'm eating it. Just watch the amount you take in.

Peanut butter (as long as it doesn't have added sugar) can be part of a healthy diet as nuts (and nut butters) are extremely good for you - full of unsaturated fats and healthy protein. Having a portion a day (that would be about 1 heaped tablespoon) should be perfectly fine.

Of course, it's also best if you have the peanut butter with a wholegrain bread product as they have more fiber, vitamins and minerals than bread products made from refined grains and also tend to be much more filling.
