Most short haired dogs don't shed much when they are fed a good quality diet. There are some dogs that have hair as opposed to fur. Dogs with hair hardly shed at all since their hair grows much longer before it falls out. It's quite similar to how people lose hair. These types of dogs are also better for people with allergies as they have much less dander. At the moment the only dog I can think of with hair is a Poodle (in all sizes). There are others, I just can't think of any right now. Another popular low shedding dog is the "Goldendoodle". It is a cross between a poodle and a Golden Retriever and is considered a "designer dog". Since they are half Poodle they barely shed at all. There are a few other "designer" dogs that are part poodle. Chinese Crested dogs are small and only have fur or hair (can't remember which it is) on their head, tail and feet. I hope this was helpful. Try doing some of your own research on google :) Good Luck

I have a miniature schnauzer and those don't shed at ALL. It's amazing! However if you like bigger dogs they have the standard schnauzer or the giant schnauzer. The dog is a very intelligent, eager to please breed. You just have to brush them daily in order to avoid matting fur other than that you should be great! Labradoodles also don't shed since they are part poodle. I'm sure they're other breeds but these are the only ones I know of. Good luck!
There is no such thing as a "totally" non-shedding dog. All dogs shed at least a little hair at one time or another, as do humans, just in varying degrees and some year round while others twice a year. Even poodles shed. There are however dogs that shed little to no discernible hair. Just find a low shedding dog, one that works best with your lifestyle, then add Mrs. Allen's Shed Stop to their food. Problem solved! Here's some common low-shed dogs.
Affenpinscher, Airedale, Am. Water Spaniel, Aust. Terrier, Basinji, Bedlington Terrier, Bichon Frise, Black Russian Terrier, Border Terrier, Bouvier des Flanders, Brussels Griffon, Cairn Terrier, Coton De Tulear, Dandie Dinmont, Glen of Imaal, Havanese, Irish Terrier, Irish Water Spaniel, It. Greyhound, Kerry Blue Terrier, Komondor, Lakeland Terrier, Lhasa Apso, Lowchen, Maltese, Manchester Terrier, Norfolk Terrier, Norwich Terrier, PBGV, Poodle, Portuguese Water Dog, Puli, Schnauzer, Scottie, Sealyham Terrier, Shih-Tzu, Silky Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Spanish Water Dog, Tibetan Terrier, Welsh Terrier, Westie, Wirehaired Fox Terrier, Yorkie and all hairless breeds.
i would get a dog who's hair grows continually, but you would need to take to the groomers for a cut. All dogs shed but there are breeds that shed less but have hair that keeps growing. I had a schnauzer/terrier mix with a short cut. he didnt shed that much at all
