How do you teach a one year old dog to stop jumping on people?

Report as

Puppy should be taught not to jump. Put leash on pup, let them just hang out. Have a friend or family member ring your doorbell. Tell pup to stay and work on them accomplishing this. Praise when they do. Next you open door and invite the person in. Allow pup to sniff person but person should not acknowledge the pup in any way. If pup jumps. Give it a short snap on the leash. Start entire process again.
Pup should be made to sit before being acknowledged.
Practice everyday til it's second nature.
For good training, read the dog whisperer series. Caesar is right on the money.

To teach a year old dog not to jump on people, you should always tend to harass or punish it any time it attempts to do so. However, you can as well take it to a dog training school. For more details you can visit thedogtrainingsecret.com

While being instructed, if the dog jumps on people, tell them to step forward as if to walk Into the dog. It will release or fall over backwards, and this can extinguish the behavior without harsh words or treatment.
