Is it ok for a employer to ask you to work 4 hours after the last worked shift

i was schedule to work 2pm to 10pm then my boss asked me to stay until 2am when i have to be back to work 6am already, my boss told me if i decline i can be fired for neglecting my job. Is this legal?

In my opinion it is not legal because you did your job within the hours you were scheduled and working extra hours should be on your own volition, you should refer to the terms of your agreement. But also you should look at the situation and maybe in the long run it may help in building your status in the company as a hardworking employee.

Well a detail i left out is that i have worked 74 hours this week and most of those overtime hours are shift that i was asked to fill in. I feel like i have done my job as an outstanding employee but if they are threatening to fire me than i am scared to say no because i need this job. I'm hopeing to find a specific law or ordinance that outline this type of issue
