Is it okay if my values are completely opposite to the majority of my peers?

Today in school I had an activity in which we compared values and beliefs of the common student. Apparently, I came out to be the only one that had a diverse view of the world and how I should live my life. My background is different compared to most of them and my teacher, so it makes sense, but I don't wish to be the odd one out. I realize that being the only one with different views defines me as an outcast, but I believe that i should live on my own terms without falling prey to the everyday person.

It's okay to to have values different than those of your peers. Although you should try to conform the best you can so you won't be an outcast. Don't go against your own views; just try to accept theirs and respect them. If you teacher questions your views, tell them those are your views.
